Your Guide to Care
Care: Fairly Easy
Light: If indoors, bright to medium light. The brighter the light the stronger the colors. If outdoors, aim for partial/shaded sunlight. Direct sunlight will cause the plant to dry out quickly, possibly leading to drought and the leaves burning. This plant is not drought tolerant, so direct sun should be limited or avoided.
Water: The Hawaiian Ti plant prefers to have moist soil, so water when the top of the soil feels dry. If you notice brown tips it could be from the water you’re using as Ti plants are sensitive to fluoride. You can leave the water on the counter overnight or try using distilled water.
Temperature: 65 to 90F is their ideal range. They cannot tolerate any temperatures below 50F.
Humidity: Hawaiian Ti plants love humid environments!
Feeding: Fertilize your Ti plant once a month during spring and summer, then once every two months after.
Bonus
If you notice your Hawaiian Ti plants colors are not as bright as they should be check on these three things: is your plant getting enough light? Is the temperature too low? Is it time to fertilize?
