You may be wondering how this fun fern received its name, and that would be because the shape of its leaves bare resemblence to a kangaroo’s foot! Equally fitting, this plant is native to Australia. With the right conditions this fern plant is a fast grower. We love this plant in a hanging basket form!
Your Guide to Care
Care: Very adaptable, easy to care for plant.
Light: Give your paw fern moderate to bright indirect light when grown indoors. If grown outdoors, provide it with partial shade. In the wild this plant can be seen climbing trees. Keep it away from direct sunlight that can damage leaves and your plant.
Water: This plant likes consistently moist soil, but not soggy. You will want to water regularly and avoid dry soil.
Temperature: 60 to 75 F is a kangaroo ferns ideal temperature range, so they do really well indoors at room temperature. Make sure to keep it away from any drafty doors and windows, and away from heating/cooling vents.
Humidity: Medium to high levels of humidity and moisture. This can be achieved using a humidifier and/or through misting your kangaroo fern plant daily.
Feeding: Fertilize your fern once a month during growing season (spring and summer). You do not need to fertilize over cooler months.

While this plant is highly adaptable, brown leaves could be indicating underwatering and/or low humidity levels.
