Alocasia Borneo Giant FAQ
How to Care for an Alocasia Borneo Giant Plant?
locasia Borneo Giant requires well-draining soil and appreciates consistently moist conditions. Water regularly, allowing the top few inches of soil to dry between watering sessions. Provide bright, indirect light and some direct sunlight to enhance leaf coloration. Keep the humidity high, especially in indoor environments. Fertilize sparingly during the growing season and prune away any yellowing or damaged leaves.
Are Elephant Ear Plants Poisonous?
Yes, like many Alocasia varieties, including the Borneo Giant, elephant ear plants contain compounds that can be toxic if ingested. It’s important to keep them out of reach of children and pets and handle them with care. If there is a concern about toxicity, it’s advisable to consult with a veterinarian or medical professional.
Do Deer Eat Elephant Ear Plants?
While deer typically avoid eating elephant ear plants due to their toxic nature, it’s not a foolproof deterrent. In times of food scarcity, deer may nibble on a variety of plants, including those with toxic properties. Using deer-resistant strategies or protective measures may help prevent damage.

Beautiful plant. Packed extremely well and arrived really quick
Beautiful plant, came in excellent condition and well packed. Absolutely thrilled with this purchase! New leaf coming in already 🙂
Wow, this plant is amazing! I’ve ordered quite a few plants on Etsy, and this is the best wrapped plant I’ve ever received. She was packaged so well that barely any soil lost, usually I get an explosion of dirt when opening a new plant package. She’s super healthy and large, even larger than I thought she would be, and has lot of little baby leaves coming in. Obviously had been well cared for. I highly recommend this seller, and I’m definitely planning on ordering more plants.
