Sprengeri Fern Plant Care
Scientific Name
Asparagus aethiopicus
Light
The Sprengeri Fern Hanging Basket, or Asparagus Fern Sprengeri, thrives in dappled shade but can adapt to brighter lighting conditions over time. It’s essential to protect it from direct, harsh sunlight to prevent leaf scorching.
Water
Caring for your Sprengeri Fern Hanging Basket may involve additional attention to maintain the right moisture levels. This plant has a strong affinity for humidity, which can be challenging to provide in indoor settings, especially when indoor air becomes dry during the winter season. To ensure the well-being of your hanging basket, daily misting is a beneficial practice, focusing on the gracefully trailing fronds. If you observe browning and wilting of the foliage, it’s an indicator of thirst. Keep the soil consistently moist, and water when the top inch of soil feels dry to the touch. The introduction of warmer, more humid air and a daily misting routine will contribute to the thriving beauty of your Sprengeri Fern Hanging Basket. Outdoors, make sure to maintain a well-watered regimen to prevent the soil from drying out entirely.

Extremely root bound. Zero soil, 100% cement hard roots. I’m a retailer and cannot sell them in this condition
Both of these ferns were extremely root bound. The most solid rootball of any plant I’ve ever seen. There was basically zero soil. Both had to be removed from their pots and put into larger pots with soil, with much difficulty.
Beautiful plant, I love my asparagus fern so much!
