Your Guide to Care
Care: Easy care.
Light: Grow your sky vine in full sun to partial sun. If you are in a hot, tropical climate (zones 10 to 11) provide your plant with shade from the afternoon sun where possible. If overwintering indoors make sure to give this plant direct sun or lots of light.
Water: Give your plant regular moisture for the best flower production. Water when the top inch or so of soil feels dry. Sky vines do not like soggy soil so be careful not to overwater.
Temperature: Sky vine thunbergia is a great plant for the heat. It can survive temperatures as low as 20F, however it will not be thriving in cold weather and survival is risky. Winter indoors unless in a warmer climate.
Humidity: 50% humidity is preferred, it is a tropical after all.
Feeding: Sky vines are fast growers as is so not much fertilizer is needed unless you notice your plant is not growing. At the beginning of spring is recommended and then as needed based on growth speed.
Bonus
Make sure to give your plant LOTS of room to grow (like 8 feet!), it’s very fast growing and will take over quickly. On that note, make sure to remember to prune your plant too or it may be out of control before you know it!
