Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about our tropical plants
General Questions
Not exactly. Every plant is unique, just like people. We handpick each one to match the size and shape of what you see in the listing, but slight differences are normal because you're buying a live plant, not a replica.
We don’t offer individual plant photos. The product images are accurate representations of what you can expect, but every plant has its own natural variation.
No. All orders are packed and shipped as we receive them to ensure your plant arrives fresh and healthy. Please only order when you're ready to receive and care for it.

We use FedEx Ground. Delivery typically takes 1 to 7 business days depending on your location (origin zip code 33472). Once your order ships, you'll get tracking info by email.

No, you don’t need to be home. Your plant is packed to stay safe in the box for a short time. We do recommend bringing it inside as soon as possible after delivery.
First, check with neighbors or around your delivery area. If it’s still missing, email us at info@tropicalplantsofflorida.com and we’ll help sort it out.
Winter Shipping & Heat Packs
Yes, if your nighttime temperatures drop below 38°F, a heat pack is required. Without it, your plant is at risk of cold damage, and we can't guarantee healthy arrival without it.

If your temperatures are below 25°F we recommend waiting to order or letting our team know it's okay to ship as soon as we see an acceptable temperature window. If temperatures are consistently below 25°F and we determine your plant cannot be shipped safely, your order may be subject to cancellation. Our goal is to make sure you receive a happy, healthy plant!

Order one heat pack per plant, since each one is boxed individually.
Your plant will be wrapped in an insulating "blanket" layer made from recycled denim, plus the heat pack itself to keep it warm during transit.
Plant Arrival & Care
Unbox it right away and check the soil. If it feels dry, give it some water. Place it in a spot with bright, indirect light and give it a few days to adjust. Shipping can be stressful for plants, so don’t worry if it looks a little tired at first.
Let your plant settle in for about 3 to 4 weeks before repotting. Choose a pot with drainage holes and fresh potting soil. You can find more tips in our Plant Care Library.
These spots are from a safe, preventative spray we use to protect your plant from pests and disease before it ships.
