Multicolor Hibiscus Bush Care

Hibiscus rosa-sinensis

Your hibiscus multicolor bush thrives in full sun, needing at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily to produce consistent, vibrant blooms. It performs best in a sunny garden bed or on a south-facing patio or balcony. If growing indoors, place it near the brightest window available.

Keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy. Water thoroughly when the top inch of soil feels dry. During hot summer months or when blooming heavily, your multicolor hibiscus plant may need water more frequently. Ensure containers have good drainage to avoid root rot.

This tropical beauty grows best in USDA Hardiness Zones 9 to 11. In cooler climates, treat it as a seasonal patio plant or overwinter it indoors. When temperatures fall below 50°F, move your hibiscus to a warm, bright location inside to protect it from cold stress.

Hibiscus Multicolor Bush FAQ

Each plant contains a mix of 2 to 3 flower colors from a curated selection including red (president red and double red), yellow, pink (seminole and painted lady), double peach, and more. Specific colors may vary depending on availability and season.

While best grown outdoors in full sun, it can be kept in a large container and moved indoors near a sunny window when temperatures drop below 50°F.

Your plant arrives 24 to 28 inches tall (including the pot), but with proper care, it can grow taller over time and be pruned to maintain your desired shape and size.

Many plants ship already budded or blooming. With adequate sun and water, new blooms typically appear within a few weeks during the active growing season.
